My Name is Larry, I am 51 years young, and have been a member of your establishment since 2007. I started a routine which consisted of twenty minutes on the treadmill, a few push-ups, pump a few weights and used a couple of machines. My weight at that time was 194 lbs. Here's my story; After a long while of my normal routine one day Denise came up to me after I complained about the blisters I kept getting after using the treadmill and notice I was not using the treadmill properly. She told me that your time here can be more efficient if you learn the machines and how to use them: She recommended that I should consider signing up with a personal trainer for the (6) session intro offer that the Gym was offering. I agreed and was assigned with Debbie.
The first session was on June 25, 2009. The first day that I met Debbie she promised to get me on track, which meant, straightening up my posture, reducing my spare tire and most importantly, finding out my eating habits: Debbie asked me to write down everything I ate each day for each week that we meet: She would study my eating habits and would take the time to show me where I was good and what I should cut-out or substitute. Then she would put me on a routine in which I now have developed (5) routines that I use each and every time I work out, which averages (5) times per week: Now I have been with Debbie ever since, and on October 6, 2009 I went for my follow up doctor appointment: I go every 3-4 months due to high cholesterol and high blood pressure which I am currently taking medication for: Dr. X who has been my doctor for the last 30 years, walked into the room, look at me and said, "you lost weight", I said yes, about 12 pounds: Then he was taking my blood pressure and asked "what have you been doing", a little concern came over me the way he was questioning me, I said I have been working out with a trainer at the Gym where I belong: He looked at me and said, "do you realize that you no longer need to be on high blood pressure medication any longer and said keep doing what your doing, listen to what your trainer is telling you and I am proud to see that a patient of mine can take control and turn themselves around.
I now weigh 179 lbs. The next day I went right to Debbie to let her know about this and what I admired about her was the way she reacted with HAPPINESS, a HIGH FIVE and a HUG. WOW! She was happy and excited to hear this news and it made me feel so good to see her this way because she believes in what she does and this is what it takes to motivate people like myself. I owe everything to Debbie, Denise and the entire staff at the GYM. You have changed my life around.
